Eva Caridi was born in Corfu in 1972, in a prolific artistic environment, since her father Spiros Caridi is a famous painter. This cultural environment has formed the artistic talent that Eva displays today in her innovative work. He studied at the Julien Academy in Paris under Almo Del Debbio and is an award-winning artist, (among other golden medals at Florence Biennial in 2005). In addition to being a very talented artist, she is a clear expression of that multicultural tradition that has positively marked all European artistic movements from the fifteenth century onwards. Her visionary signature style is highlighted in a decisive way in her sculptures through a language that, while evoking classical statuary, an inevitable point of reference for a Greek artist, investigates with a modern language, which is expressed through the use of different materials such as raw plaster, iron and other "poor" materials, the relationship between the human condition and the flow of time. Caridi has exhibited his works in vibrant cities like Paris, New York and London, and widely in Italy. The artist’s works have a solid base of collectionism and appear in Public commissions such as the National Airport of Corfu (Bust Sculpture of Ioannis Kapodistrias), at the Municipal Garden of Corfu, (Bust of 1st Governor of Greece), at the Imperial Hotel in Corfu (the statues of the Durell Brothers). His other works are in the collection of the "University of Health and Science", Arizona, USA and the Ionian State Academy of Corfu in Greece.

“Along with being a very talented artist, is a clear expression of that multicultural tradition that has positively marked all the European artistic movements from the fifteenth century onwards. Born and raised in Greece, in a fertile artistic environment, daughter of a famous painter, she studied in Paris at the prestigious Julian Academy, (she) performs her works in her country, but has deep links with Italy and Great Britain. Her visionary signature style is highlighted in a decisive way in her sculptures through a language that, while evoking classical statuary, an inevitable point of reference for a Greek artist, investigates with a modern language, which is expressed through the use of different materials such as raw plaster, iron or other "poor" materials, the relationship between the human condition and the flow of time. Objective time in the modifications that involves to the human body and leads it to an inexorable decay but, above all, subjective time that leads man to a profound analysis of his own Inner Self. The bodies that the artist models appear rather mysterious, as if suspended in an atemporal context, and through their almost theatrical poses, arouse a slight restlessness in the observer, causing him to reflect on his own existential condition. “Walking along the narrow pathways of the black-walled labyrinth, one arrives at the core of the maze, and a b/w video installation. Three females – a child and a young woman, both semi-naked, and an older woman – wander separately through a derelict building, along the same path, appearing from and disappearing into unseen rooms and corridors that run off camera. At times the three stare out toward the spectator, engaging the viewer in this dream-like film sequence. The chilling sound installation, a loud cacophony of cries, overhead noises, falling water, footsteps and the spoken word, spills out across the vast installation – the largest iron sculpture to be exhibited in London - to focus the mind of the spectator on Caridi’s attempt to create awareness of how the passage of time affects the human condition. Caridi’s intention is to mirror the human soul, and ‘the frailness of human emotions’. Caridi explains that the inspiration for ‘NUDE’ emerged from a previous work, her film trilogy Intimate Portrait. In ‘NUDE’, which, Caridi says is ‘a whole self-portrait’, she states that it ‘almost sums up a little bit of my life, it is in fact autobiographical’, and is a continuity of Intimate Portrait. ‘It has everything to do with time and the human condition, it relates to previous work but is separate to it’ she says”.
